Are you an experienced HR professional with a passion for employee relations and supporting positive workplace culture? We are looking for a proactive permanent, full time HR Advisor to join our team and provide high-quality, hands-on support across a wide range of HR activities. In this role, you will play a key part in managing complex ER cases, coaching managers, and ensuring best practice across the organisation. As an HR Advisor, you will support the Human Resources Department by delivering effective HR services with a strong focus on employee relations (ER). You will manage a varied caseload, provide expert advice to managers, and contribute to wider HR initiatives that help shape and strengthen our people culture. Key Responsibilities Manage a varied ER caseload including disciplinary, grievance, performance, sickness absence, and capability issues. Conduct investigation meetings, prepare case documentation, and guide managers through all stages of the ER process. Ensure all cases are handled in line with employment law, company procedures, and HR best practice. Support early conflict resolution through coaching, mediation, and proactive ER interventions. Monitor and report ER trends, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement. Provide day-to-day advice to managers on policies, ER issues, and best practice people management. Coach managers to confidently manage difficult conversations. Deliver ER briefings and training sessions to enhance managerial capability. Review and update HR policies to ensure legal compliance and alignment with company culture. Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all ER activities. Support compliance with current employment legislation and internal HR standards. Manage short- and long-term absence processes, including OH referrals and return-to-work planning. Identify wellbeing concerns and recommend appropriate support. Contribute to wider HR projects including culture and change programmes. Assist with HR reporting, audits, KPIs, and continuous improvement activities. Act as a role model for high-quality people management practices. Support the leaver process and handle general HR queries. Represent the HR department at internal and external meetings. Provide support on ad hoc HR initiatives as required. Essential Experience & Skills Strong, demonstrable experience in employee relations and case management. Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Ability to build strong, effective working relationships. Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and delegate effectively. Strong customer service orientation and commitment to high-quality HR delivery. Flexible and adaptable to meet business needs. Experience within the FMCG sector. Desirable Experience & Skills Experience working with Trade Unions. Experience within the manufacturing industry. Essential Qualifications CIPD Level 5 (Chartered Member) or currently working towards this qualification.
