WORKING HOURS: Full time -40 hours Monday to Friday 9am-6pm
LOCATION: Harlow Sites (Essex) but not limited to Templefields House and/or Terminus House
SALARY: £27,000 per annum or £13 per hour
Purpose of Role:
The Grounds & Cleaning Operative is responsible for ensuring the overall cleanliness, hygiene, and upkeep of both internal and external areas of the premises. The role combines cleaning responsibilities with the management of grounds, bin stores, and waste removal to maintain a safe, clean, and presentable environment for all staff, residents, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the building, including communal areas, kitchens, bathrooms, and offices.
* Carry out dusting, sweeping, mopping, hoovering, scrubbing, and sanitising of all relevant surfaces.
* Wash floors, toilets, showers, tubs, windows, counters, and other designated areas
* Clear and maintain bin store areas, including the removal of dumped large items.
* Assist with flat clearances and general cleaning of outside areas.
* Keep car parks and external areas free of rubbish.
* Empty and clean litter bins as required.
* Support the upkeep of high cleanliness standards both inside and outside the building.
Skills & Requirements:
* Previous experience in cleaning, waste management, or grounds maintenance (desirable).
* Good understanding of cleaning and sanitation standards.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
* Physical ability to handle manual tasks, including lifting and moving items.
* Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
* Awareness of health and safety practices in cleaning and waste handling.
Working Conditions:
* This role involves both indoor and outdoor work in varying conditions.
* Use of cleaning materials and equipment is required.
* Occasional lifting and handling of heavy items may be necessary.
