About the Role
We are currently recruiting PMLD Support Workers to work in a specialist SEN school in South Bristol.
This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), as well as additional needs such as complex medical needs, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and communication difficulties.
As a PMLD Support Worker, you will provide hands-on support to help pupils access learning, communication, and daily routines in a safe and nurturing environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Supporting pupils with PMLD on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
2. Assisting with personal care, feeding, and mobility
3. Using sensory activities and communication tools to engage pupils
4. Supporting students with hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, or other specialist programmes
5. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals
6. Promoting pupil comfort, dignity, and independence
What We’re Looking For
7. Experience supporting children or adults with complex needs, PMLD, or disabilities
8. Comfortable with personal care and manual handling
9. Patient, compassionate, and proactive approach
10. Strong communication and teamwork skills
11. DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Experience in care, support work, SEN, or healthcare is highly desirable.
