Bright Starts Nursery is looking for a passionate, experienced, and committed individual to join our Blantyre Nursery as a Senior Nursery Practitioner. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about Early Learning and Childcare, has strong leadership skills, and a sound understanding of the Curriculum for Excellence and Realising the Ambition.
Job Role:
As part of our Senior Team, you will work closely with the Management Team to provide a high-quality environment for children, families, and staff. You will lead, support, and mentor a team of Early Years Practitioners, ensuring the delivery of exceptional care and learning experiences.
You will also support the day-to-day operations of the nursery, help promote a positive team culture, and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in your care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Be a positive role model, demonstrating high standards of practice in all areas of care, learning, and play.
* Oversee and support the team in delivering stimulating and inspiring activities, both indoors and outdoors, in line with Curriculum for Excellence and Realising the Ambition.
* Provide ongoing leadership, mentoring, and feedback through regular 1:1s, supervisions, and appraisals.
* Promote a positive and professional learning culture and support continuous professional development for staff.
* Ensure all internal policies and procedures are followed, and meet the standards set out by Care Inspectorate and other regulatory bodies.
* Work collaboratively with families, children, and staff to create a nurturing, inclusive, and enabling environment.

Job Type:
* Full-Time 40 hours a week, Permanent
Requirements:
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in a childcare setting (preferred)
* Relevant childcare qualifications at SCQF Level 7 or above (e.g. SVQ 3, HNC)
* Excellent knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence and Realising the Ambition
* Strong communication and team leadership skills
* Passionate about delivering high standards in early years education
* Ability to reliably commute to or relocate to Blantyre (G72) before starting work (preferred)
