Our University of Surrey International Study Centre, in Guildford, is based in a beautiful campus that is extremely picturesque with a calm, peaceful atmosphere. The centre offers an International Foundation Programme, a Pre-Masters Programme, and English language preparation courses, with a variety of pathways across different subject areas and a diverse student body.
ABOUT THE ROLE
* Contribute to the design, delivery, and development of modules offered by Surrey International Study Centre.
* Prepare and deliver teaching classes, seminars, and tutorial sessions.
* Write and prepare assessments, including unit examinations and other formative and summative assessments.
* Mark students’ submissions and provide timely feedback, including tutorials and regular student reports.
* Develop and update course materials for modules and teaching sessions, including content for the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
* Collaborate with the Centre’s administration team for induction, orientation, and registration programs.
* Liaise with colleagues to ensure students receive appropriate welfare and progression support.
* Monitor students’ academic progress and implement intervention strategies as needed.
* Implement quality assurance procedures at the module and session level, and contribute to course reviews.
* Maintain accurate records of attendance and performance.
* Participate in standardisation, moderation, and quality assurance meetings.
* Keep and submit records of teaching and activities timely and accurately.
ABOUT YOU
* A Bachelor’s degree in a related subject (Essential)
* Relevant Teaching Qualification such as TEFL-I/TEFLQ (e.g., CELTA, DELTA, Trinity Dip) or an MA in TESOL/TEFL/Linguistics (Essential)
* EAP teaching experience (Essential)
* Fluent in spoken and written English
* Experience teaching in UK Higher or Further education, preferably with a qualification and experience working with international students.
