Offer description

About the Role

We’re looking for a highly organised and proactive team member to support content transformation across our global education teams. In this new role, you’ll help us put in place the right processes and workflows to enable us to create accessible, personalised, platform-agnostic content. Working closely with the Director of Digital Transformation, you’ll play an important role in enabling cross-functional teams to modernise how we develop and manage our products.

The Content Transformation Manager will coordinate projects and connect cross-functional teams, including Editorial, Product, Digital and central operations teams. Supporting new ways of working, from tracking progress and managing risks to preparing updates and maintaining clear documentation, you’ll ensure everyone has the guidance and clarity they need to succeed. As a central point of contact, you’ll help align stakeholders, set the agenda for key meetings and support the adoption of new workflows. You’ll monitor and report on key metrics across our content transformation projects. Guided by senior team members, you will also contribute to the management of taxonomy data that drives consistency across products and markets.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll support day-to-day workflow execution, contribute to process improvements, and help embed new ways of working. You’ll maintain and develop guidance, assist with training, communications and cross-functional collaboration. Success in this role comes from strong organisation, clear communication, and a continuous improvement mindset, enabling teams to work more effectively while contributing to a major transformation in how educational content is created and delivered.

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.

About You

Essential:

1. Experience in editorial, production, operations or content development environments.
2. Interest in structured content, XML and metadata (no expertise required).
3. Strong organisational and coordination skills.
4. Confidence working across multiple teams and stakeholders and escalating where appropriate.
5. Experience with basic data tracking and reporting (Excel, dashboards etc).
6. Able to understand and explain workflows, even if not designing them.
7. Curiosity, initiative and willingness to “have a go” at solving small problems.

Desirable:

8. Experience supporting process change or new workflow adoption.
9. Familiarity with CMS, workflow tools or metadata.
10. Interest in accessibility, localisation or multi-format publishing.

Benefits

We care about work/life balance here at OUP. With this in mind we offer 25 days’ holiday that rises with service, plus bank holidays and Christmas closure (3-days) and a 35-hour working week. We are open to discussing flexibility in respect to working patterns, dependent on role. We also have a great variety of active employee networks and societies.

We help make your money go further by contributing to your pension up to 12%, offering loans and savings schemes through our partnership with Salary Finance, in addition to travel to work schemes and access to a wide range of local discounts.

This role comes with the added benefit of a discretionary annual payment.
