The Directorate Lead Pharmacists act as role models in terms of Trust values and behaviours as well as clinical expertise. The post-holder will lead, develop, deliver, evaluate and be responsible for delivering a comprehensive pharmacy service and medicines optimisation advice to the directorate.
You will join a leading-edge multi-disciplinary team (MDT) in delivering a first-class pharmacy service to our Infectious Diseases (ID) ward and HIV outpatient clinics. Patient counselling and tailoring treatments to patients’ needs is pivotal in this patient group. The Specialist Medicine Pharmacy team also provide support to Dermatology, Endocrinology and Clinical Genetics and you may also have the opportunity to gain clinical skills in these areas.
This rewarding role is varied and dynamic with a considerable opportunity for direct patient contact. It provides abundant opportunity for being resourceful in applying all your knowledge, problem solving, team working and communication skills with ample opportunity to develop and hone your leadership skills. The ideal candidate should have excellent organisational, people skills and be non-judgemental.
Main duties of the job
1. Act as a role model for pharmacy within the Trust, demonstrating the GPhC Standards for Pharmacy Professionals and our Trust values.
2. Be recognised as an ICB, regional, National or international expert within your specialist field.
3. Support and promote the Trusts equality, diversity and inclusion principles.
4. Plan and organise your own workload in alignment with professional and organisational priorities. Support others to do the same. Delegate and escalate appropriately.
5. Accept professional accountability for all actions and advice.
6. Report any unexpected or untoward events via the Trusts incident reporting system
7. Lead, manage, motivate and develop pharmacy staff within your team.
