Secondary Teaching Assistant – South Bristol
Protocol Education are recruiting flexible and proactive Teaching Assistants to support secondary schools across South Bristol. You’ll work alongside teachers and pastoral teams to help high-need students access learning, provide 1:1 or small group support, and contribute to a positive, encouraging, and inclusive school environment.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in education, youth work, or support roles, as well as those looking to gain valuable classroom experience to support future career progression. We welcome applicants at the start of their careers who are eager to make a difference working with young people. What the role looks like:
* Providing calm, consistent support to students (many with SEN needs), using patience, empathy, and enthusiasm.
* Working closely with teachers and departments to deliver tailored support that meets individual needs.
* Assisting with behaviour management, encouraging positive routines with warmth and clarity.
* Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment where every student can thrive.
* Adapting flexibly to different subjects and departments, supporting learning wherever it’s needed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
