We have an opportunity for a full time Task Planning Manager based in Bulford, Wiltshire. The Company’s sole customer is the UK Ministry of Defence for the delivery of armoured vehicles inthe UK using our fleet of 80 STGO cat 3 Heavy Equipment Transporters (HET).
The Task Planning Manager is the focal point for liaison with the MOD to determine the schedule, allocateresources within drivers’ hours regulations, plan administration for the moves and gain routeclearance using the National Highways ESDAL system. The role also requires dealings withregional traffices and police forces. Office-based, the Task Planning Manager divides their time between the Company Offices in Bulford and Army HQ in Andover.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safety & Compliance: Ensure that tasks are planned in accordance with Traffic Commissioner standards for loads, routes and drivers’ hours.
2. Task Acceptance: Working with the Army customer to fulfil proposed tasks considering existing tasks, priorities and resource availability, including negotiation of adjustments to make best use of assets.
3. Task Resourcing: Identify available staff and plan their schedule accordingly. Liaise with the Task Execution Manager and Workshop Engineering Manager to confirm availability of HET and escort vehicles and, where necessary, maintainers to support tasks.
4. Accommodation Plotting: As Operators live all over the UK, develop accommodation plans to support the tasks.
5. Route Planning: Using the ESDAL system, gain route clearance for all moves including, in some instances, the arrangement of Police Escorts.
6. Record Keeping: In order to support the Operations Director in performance reporting, maintain task data including loads moved, loads rejected, loads cancelled and load timings.
7. Representing the Company: Spending part of the working week (currently 2 days) in HQ Army, represent the Company’s position and, where necessary, seek advice from theSenior Management Team on issues and brief on emerging plans. Represent the Company at HQ Army planning meetings.
8. Duty Cover: a rotational sleeping duty, available to take out-of-hours calls (incident reporting) from Operators.
9. Travel: There may be occasional needs to travel away from Bulford.

Essential Skills & Experience:

18. Intermediate O365 skills level
19. Knowledge of Commercial Transport rules and Driver’s Hours Regulations
20. A professional individual with a strong sense of Company and team loyalty
21. High standards of personal presentation
22. Hold a current UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
23. Willing to travel and stay away from home
24. Ability to get security clearance to work on UK Military bases (facilitated by the Company)
Desirable Skills & Experience:
25. Previous Military experience (civilian or military)
26. Knowledge of STGO requirements.
27. Hold a C+E licence; commercial driving experience
28. Skilled in Transport Management system or similar

Expected hours: 40 per week.
Pay: £50k – £55k per year (experience dependant)
