Prospero Teaching is looking for a caring and dependable Learning Support Assistant to work with pupils in the Winchester area. The role focuses on supporting children who may need additional help with learning, concentration, confidence, emotional regulation, or accessing lessons effectively.
Your role will involve working alongside teachers and support staff to provide consistent assistance throughout the school day, helping pupils feel supported, engaged and able to take part in learning within a calm, structured classroom environment.
Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils who require extra assistance
* Support pupils with classroom activities, routines and learning tasks
* Help students remain focused, calm, and engaged in lessons
* Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour
* Work closely with teachers to support learning strategies
* Assist with emotional regulation and social development
* Contribute to a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals
* Calm, patient, and confident supporting varied learning needs
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
* Adaptable, reliable, and supportive in a classroom setting
* Passionate about helping young people succeed
* Psychology, education, or child‑related graduates encouraged to apply
* Experience with children preferred
* SEN experience beneficial but not required
* Right to work in the UK, enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one), two relevant references
* Safeguarding training can be provided
