Job Title: Electrical Project Manager - Substations (33kV) Location: UK-wide / Hybrid Role Overview: The Electrical Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of substation construction and refurbishment projects, with a focus on 33kV systems. The role requires strong electrical engineering expertise, stakeholder coordination, and project leadership across multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities: Manage full lifecycle of electrical substation projects from initiation to closeout. Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, schedules, and resource allocations. Lead cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, designers, and contractors. Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, NEC/NFPA codes, and health & safety standards. Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems. Liaise with internal departments (Design, Procurement, Operations) and external stakeholders (e.g., SONI, customers). Monitor project risks, costs, and performance, providing regular reports and forecasts. Maintain high standards of on-site safety and quality assurance. Interpret technical drawings and specifications, ensuring alignment with project goals. Requirements: HNC or higher in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical project management, ideally within substations or utility infrastructure. Strong understanding of electrical systems, protection, and metering. Experience with project scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6). Familiarity with NEC4 contracts and commercial management software (e.g., CEMAR). Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites. Desirable: Accredited Project Management qualification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2). Chartered Engineer status or working towards it (IET or equivalent). Experience with 33kV-132kV substation projects. Knowledge of online project collaboration tools and CAD software.
