Estimator – Passive Fire Protection & Fire Doors
Location: Essex (Office-based | Hybrid considered)
Salary: £45,000 – £65,000 basic (DOE)
Overview
A third-party accredited Passive Fire Protection contractor operating across London and the South-East is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Estimator due to continued growth and a strong secured pipeline of work.
This is a key estimating role covering fire-stopping and fire door projects, working closely with project managers and senior leadership to ensure accurate, compliant, and commercially sound tenders.
Responsibilities

Price passive fire protection and fire door works from enquiry to handover
*
Review drawings, specifications, surveys, and fire strategies
*
Prepare detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, access, and preliminaries
*
Quantify works in line with current standards and manufacturers’ guidance
*
Liaise with clients, suppliers, fire engineers, and internal teams
*
Prepare tender submissions, including value-engineered options
*
Ensure pricing aligns with third-party accreditation and ASFP best practice
*
Support clear commercial handover to delivery teams
Requirements
*
Proven estimating experience within passive fire protection and/or fire doors
*
Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and fire strategies
*
High attention to detail with a structured approach
*
Confident communicator
*
Strong Excel skills and estimating/take-off software experience
*
Experience working within accredited/compliance-driven environments preferred
Package
*
£45,000 – £65,000 basic salary (DOE)
