About The Role We’re seeking a highly skilled and driven Commercial Manager to lead the commercial delivery of a £1 billion portfolio of strategic infrastructure projects under the Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) Framework, a UK-wide programme accelerating critical upgrades to the national grid. This long-term programme runs until 2032, offering stable, high-impact work within a nationally significant infrastructure environment. Role Profile Lead the commercial strategy and end-to-end commercial delivery across a portfolio of major infrastructure projects Manage, mentor, and develop a team of commercial professionals, with team size aligned to project scope and complexity Administer NEC Option A and C contracts, ensuring compliance, robust risk management, and effective commercial governance Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support successful project outcomes The role sits within the ASTI Framework, and the ideal candidate can be based in Elgin. What you'll be doing Lead the commercial management of multiple ASTI and infrastructure projects within the Delivery Unit. Ensure consistent application of commercial processes, governance, and risk management across all projects. Provide commercial expertise and support to the Director of Operations, particularly in managing ASTI commercial risk and strategic programme delivery. Collaborate with the Commercial Director to ensure commercial assurance across the framework. Maintain confidence in margin performance, proactively manage cashflow, and mitigate commercial risks. Forecast commercial outcomes accurately and escalate issues where appropriate. Drive subcontractor procurement processes in collaboration with procurement surveyors, ensuring timely and commercially sound contract placement. Support end-to-end contract management, including warranties, compensation events, and value creation. Ensure customer requirements are understood and reflected in project delivery, particularly across ASTI-related scopes. Who we're looking for Proven experience managing commercial performance on large-scale infrastructure projects, ideally within a regulated or framework-driven environment. NEC Option A & C contract knowledge is essential. Experience within ASTI, transmission investment, or similar frameworks is beneficial but not required. Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage margin, risk, and cashflow across multi-million-pound projects. Excellent stakeholder management skills and a collaborative leadership approach. Strong business acumen with the ability to identify and develop commercial opportunities. Professional qualification required. Chartered membership of RICS, CIOB, or ICE is desirable.
