Responsibilities
* Lead the management of a diverse commercial property and estates portfolio, ensuring assets are utilised effectively to support housing service objectives.
* Develop and implement asset management strategies, including acquisition, disposal, and optimisation of property assets in line with the Council’s capital programme.
* Oversee lease management, rent reviews, and negotiations with tenants and commercial partners to maximise income and ensure compliance with lease terms.
* Ensure all properties meet statutory and regulatory requirements, including health and safety, building compliance, and landlord obligations.
* Work collaboratively with housing, finance, legal, and regeneration teams to support service transformation and place-based initiatives.
* Monitor performance, budgets, and income targets, contributing to financial planning and reporting within the service.
* Commission and manage external consultants, contractors, and managing agents where required.
