A caring and inclusive school in Bushey is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible, providing one-to-one support for a student with autism. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a student, helping them navigate their learning and social development in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one support to a pupil with autism, ensuring they have the necessary support for both academic and social development.
* Assist with personalised learning plans, working closely with the pupil to support their individual needs and goals.
* Adapt classroom materials and resources to make them accessible and engaging for the student.
* Foster positive behaviour, social skills, and emotional wellbeing through supportive and tailored strategies.
* Collaborate with teaching staff, the SENCO, and external professionals to ensure the student’s needs are met consistently.
* Help maintain a calm and inclusive learning environment for all students.
* Track the student’s progress and contribute to regular assessments and reviews.
What We’re Looking For
* Previous experience supporting children with SEN, particularly autism, is highly desirable.
* A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with children.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
* A genuine commitment to helping children achieve their personal best.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
* Any SEN-specific qualifications or training would be a bonus, though not essential.
