An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Audiology department. We are looking for a caring, motivated and passionate audiologist to join our friendly team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will work as a Band 5 audiologist delivering patient-centered assessments, hearing aid fittings and follow-up appointments, while contributing to the development of new ways of working to enhance the current service. The post is based at County Hospital, with some work at Royal Stoke and throughout the region.
Qualifications: If you have a BSC qualification in Healthcare Science Audiology or equivalent, along with NHS experience, we would be delighted to welcome you into the department.
Responsibilities
* Plan and undertake diagnostic audiological procedures for adults and children without supervision and recommend appropriate care plans.
* Analyze, assess and interpret a broad spectrum of adult diagnostic and rehabilitation results, and some paediatric test results.
* Manage rehabilitative patient caseloads using care plans on a direct referral basis where appropriate.
* Perform tinnitus assessment and counselling for routine adult patients.
* Refer for specialist audiological testing and/or referral to other health professionals where judged appropriate.
* Select adult hearing aid prescription and hearing aid systems relevant to the patient\'s individual audiological requirements; ensure maximum effectiveness of hearing aid systems meeting patient criteria.
* Work independently for significant periods at local clinics and undertake ward and domiciliary visits.
* Participate in areas of specialised clinical practice under the direction of senior audiological staff (e.g., Paediatric Audiology, VRA/Under 3 testing, Bone Anchored Hearing Aids) after in-house training or specialist courses.
* Supervise and support junior audiology staff, apprentices and university students; implement teaching programs to facilitate audiologist-training as directed by Senior Audiology Department staff.
* Support day-to-day management of the department and assist with organisation of the workload.
