Job Description : Electrical Engineer - Weekend Shift Shieldhall, Glasgow Permanent Closing Date: 11/01/2026 We have a fantastic opportunity for a Weekend Shift Electrical Engineer to be based at Diageo Shieldhall! Salary of £47,668.00, including shift allowance in addition to a competitive benefits package with pension, shares scheme and bonus. About the role Shieldhall is one of our most vibrant manufacturing sites, packaging an incredible range of Scotch malt whiskies, white spirits, and ready-to-drink brands for over 170 countries worldwide. It's a cornerstone of the Scotch supply category, and we're proud of the impact we make globally. As an Electrical Engineer, you'll be at the heart of our operations bringing expertise, creativity, and problem-solving skills to keep our site running smoothly and efficiently. Your role will be key in maintaining, repairing, and improving assets, while supporting exciting projects like installation, commissioning, and testing. What you'll be doing: Collaborate and connect with site teams to deliver effective maintenance strategies and drive continuous improvement. Coach and empower our Operations team, sharing insights on spirit supply to strengthen capability and confidence. Design and implement maintenance programs that optimise asset performance and utilisation. Champion reliability by ensuring all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks are completed on time and to the highest standard. Respond with agility to plant breakdowns, identify root causes, and minimise downtime. Share knowledge by reporting maintenance outcomes in SAP, helping us spread best practices across the business. Shifts As a Weekend Electrical Engineer, you will work Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7 am to 7 pm with rotating nights from 7 pm to 7 am About You We're seeking a passionate professional who brings both expertise and creativity to the role. Key Skills & Experience: Recognised SVQ Mechanical qualification, hands-on apprenticeship, or equivalent experience Strong drive and commitment to delivering manufacturing excellence Exceptional analytical skills for effective problem-solving Proven experience in a production or chemical environment, with understanding of asset condition and maintenance Proficiency in data analysis and applications (Excel, Word), plus familiarity with business systems such as SAP (desirable) Understanding of Health & Safety legislation and environmental risk principles FMCG industry experience (desirable) Ability to work collaboratively within a team while making confident, effective decisions Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate across all levels A proactive mindset to champion improvements and explore new opportunities Working with us Flexibility is key to our success.
