If you’re passionate about housing and committed to making a difference, we’d love to receive your application for the following role: * Head of Regulatory Compliance Cheltenham is one of only two District Councils in Gloucestershire who still own their own housing stock. With the proposed changes to Local Government organisation and focus on affordable housing, this provides a unique opportunity to make a lasting difference to tenants and to drive up the safety and quality of our homes. Main Purpose of the Role * Ensure that all homes and common areas within the local authority's housing service, which manages around 5,000 homes, are compliant with the Regulator of Social Housing's Safety and Quality Standard and all relevant legislation and regulations related to health and safety. * Effectively and accurately monitor and report on compliance. * Formulate and execute comprehensive strategies to ensure the effective management of compliance. * As part of the Housing team support the Head of Service in the success of the repairs and maintenance service, creating excellent partnerships, leading a knowledgeable and customer focused team. Essential Qualifications * Certifications such as CIH (Chartered Institute of Housing) or RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) * Industry recognised qualification in one or more of the relevant Compliance fields Experience Required * Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role, overseeing teams and projects related to compliance * Extensive experience in property management or housing management. * Experience of producing reports in a variety of formats to be presented at operational, corporate, or strategic levels. * Clear understanding of the health and safety legislation relating to social housing * Understanding of the Social Housing Regulatory regime * Skills in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks related to housing safety and quality. * Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
