SEN Teaching Assistant (Autism Support) – Enfield

Salary: £90–£100 per day
Do you want to play a pivotal role in supporting a child with autism to access learning and thrive in school?
We are recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Enfield, working closely with a child in KS2 on a 1:1 basis. This is a role where patience, empathy, and creativity will make a lasting difference.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Providing personalised support during lessons, transitions, and playtimes.
2. Helping the child regulate emotions and build positive relationships with peers.
3. Assisting with sensory activities and structured routines.
4. Working in close partnership with the SENCO, class teacher, and external professionals.
5. Encouraging independence and celebrating progress, however small.

What we’re looking for:
9. Previous experience of working with children with autism or other additional needs.
10. A calm, patient, and empathetic personality.
11. The ability to adapt quickly and be flexible in different situations.
12. Strong communication skills with pupils and colleagues.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
