Technical auditor (GVA or UK)
Technical Audit has become a key pillar of the FIA’s responsibilities in recent years, covering technical compliance, operational, and financial aspects of Power Unit Manufacturers’ and F1 Teams’ participation in the Formula One World Championship.
We are seeking a Technical Auditor for the Single Seater Technical Department.
You will report to the Head of Technical Audit and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with Technical, Sporting, Operational, and Financial Regulations.
MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Monitor, analyze, and audit activities of F1 Teams and Power Unit Manufacturers, including dyno activities, aerodynamic development, and inventory usage, through site visits and inspections at races and tests.
* Develop and improve technical auditing tools and processes.
* Engage with F1 Teams and Power Unit Manufacturers to provide guidance and resolve compliance issues.
* Assist in developing regulatory and monitoring strategies, including drafting technical guidance.
* Support the F1 Cost Cap Administration and Technical Regulations through reporting and inspections.
* Coordinate with other FIA departments to ensure compliance across areas.
PROFILE:
* Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or related Engineering fields or equivalent.
* At least 10 years of experience in motorsports, automotive, or aeronautical engineering, with a focus on F1 chassis or power unit development.
* Fluent in English; knowledge of French, German, Italian, or Japanese is a plus.
* Skilled in data analysis; familiarity with MATLAB, Python, SQL, CAD systems is beneficial.
* Strong understanding of complex regulatory frameworks.
* Data-driven, meticulous, and fair-minded with excellent attention to detail.
* Effective communicator capable of explaining complex concepts to diverse audiences.
* Team-oriented, proactive, solution-focused, and self-motivated.
