We're looking for an enthusiastic and committed Bank Pharmacy Technician / Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) to join our pharmacy team on a flexible, as-and-when basis. As part of our Bank workforce, you’ll provide vital support to ensure our pharmacy service runs smoothly helping us maintain safe, effective, and efficient medication management across the hospital.
Main duties of the job
In this varied and hands‑on role, you will:
* Carry out daily stock checks, managing pharmacy supplies and ensuring all medicines are in date and stored correctly.
* Order and rotate stock, working closely with clinical staff to keep levels accurate and efficient.
* Dispense and accuracy‑check prescriptions in line with SOPs (if ACT‑qualified), working closely with our pharmacists.
* Support the management of TTO (To Take Out) medication distribution to Ward and PACU areas.
* Monitor fridge and room temperatures and ensure all medicines are stored safely.
* Liaise with pharmacists regarding medical alerts and clinical governance updates.
* Provide audit support, maintain accurate records, and contribute to the safe, compliant running of the pharmacy.
* Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting consultants, GPs, nurses and pharmacy colleagues.
Every shift helps contribute to excellent patient care and a well‑run, high‑quality pharmacy service.

* Good IT skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safe, accurate working practices.
* A calm, friendly and professional manner especially when working under pressure.
* Flexibility to work Bank shifts depending on service needs.
