We are working in partnership with a leading MEP contractor to recruit an experienced Senior Bid Manager / Work Winning Manager to support a thriving division turning over circa £20-30 million per annum.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the bid function within a high-performing business unit, playing a key role in securing profitable, strategically aligned projects.
The Role
As Senior Bid Manager, you will lead and manage the end-to-end bid process, providing clear direction, structure, and motivation to the bid team. You will ensure that all submissions are commercially robust, strategically positioned, and fully compliant with company governance procedures.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide leadership to the bid team and stay up to date with industry movements and trends to enhance credibility with clients

Work closely with the Senior Management Team to identify and convert work-winning opportunities into profitable contracts aligned with business strategy
*
Develop and maintain external relationships to raise company profile, generate new opportunities, and understand the competitive landscape
*
Use market intelligence and customer insight to shape compelling, differentiating win strategies
*
Secure buy-in from operational and work-winning leaders to deliver bids within agreed budgets
*
Undertake peer reviews with the Bid Team or Pre-Contract Manager and present prime cost values, risks, and opportunities at final settlement
*
Manage production and submission of allocated tenders
*
Collaborate with Senior Management and Pre-Construction teams to ensure Group and Business Unit approvals are achieved
You will operate at a strategic level, influencing stakeholders and ensuring that every submission strengthens the company’s market position.
About You
We are looking for an engineering professional who has successfully transitioned into bid management or work-winning.
You will ideally have:

A background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
*
Previous experience as a Project Manager, Engineer, or similar operational role (Bid Manager / Business Development Manager)
*
Proven experience in Bid Management within an MEP or building services environment.
*
Strong commercial awareness and the ability to evaluate risk and opportunity.
*
Excellent leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
*
The confidence to present at senior level and influence decision-making.
This role would suit an experienced Senior Bid Manager or a technically strong Project Manager/Engineer who has already stepped into pre-construction and is ready to take full ownership of a growing division’s bid function.
