Carmichael UK is working with a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering work on the HS2 project. We are seeking an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) to support the safe planning, coordination, and delivery of temporary works across the project.
The Role
As Temporary Works Coordinator, you will act as the appointed TWC, ensuring all temporary works are managed in line with project procedures. You will work closely with the construction and design teams to ensure temporary works are designed, approved, implemented, and removed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the project Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC)
Carry out inspections and issue Permits to Load
Complete and record weekly temporary works inspections
Maintain all temporary works registers, including:
Temporary Works Design Register
Permit to Load Register
Weekly Inspection Register
Develop temporary works designs from design brief through to approval and site implementation
Review permanent works designs and identify, raise, and manage SNCs (including TQs and FCRs)
Maintain and manage the SNC register
Support the construction team in developing safe and effective construction methodologies
Liaise with designers, engineers, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure safe delivery
About You
Minimum 4 years’ experience working in a Temporary Works Coordinator role
Proven experience acting as an appointed TWC on major civils or infrastructure projects
Strong working knowledge of temporary works procedures
Experience developing and coordinating temporary works designs
TWC training completed
CSCS (minimum), SMSTS desirable
Strong organisational skills with a proactive and collaborative approach
