This role is to join the building services design team within a highly regarded mutli disciplinary consultancy. They have a friendly culture and pride themselves on offering working flexibility, projects are in the following sectors sporting stadiums, commercial, retail, education, healthcare, heritage, education, leisure, industrial and public sector.
They are a friendly team with high professional standards and are responsible for the design of all mechanical and electrical functions within buildings such as HVAC, lifts, lighting, hot and cold water systems, plant rooms, access control, fire alarm systems and data coms.
Responsibilities
* Working as part of a design team delivering detailed design
* Liaising closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors of in-house and external project teams
* Attending a range of project group and technical meetings
* Ensuring that the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements
* Advising clients and architects on energy use and conservation in a range of buildings and sites, aiming to minimise the environmental impact and reduce the carbon footprint
* Designing site-specific equipment as required
* Overseeing and supervising the installation of building systems and specifying maintenance and operating procedures
Experience/Qualifications Required
* Preferably degree educated with a mechanical or building services degree or higher educational qualification and experience in a similar role.
* Ideally chartered or a desire to become chartered.
* You will need to be an excellent communicator, able to articulate complicated issues between our clients and our highly skilled project teams
* A minimum of 5 years experience in building services design
