About The Role
Hawk 3 Talent Solutions has a fantastic opportunity for a hands‑on Manufacturing Project Development Manager to lead the safe installation of capital equipment and drive site improvement projects within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment for a company based in Oakham, Rutland. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with project leadership and supplier management. You will take projects from initial brief through to successful handover, ensuring delivery on safety, cost, quality, and timelines. This is not solely an office‑based role: you'll be actively involved on the shop floor and working closely with engineering teams and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess project briefs and determine feasibility.
* Specify new equipment and obtain competitive quotations.
* Work directly with suppliers on equipment design and solutions.
* Provide costings, timescales, and updates to senior management.
* Oversee project delivery from inception through to completion.
* Ensure safe installation and commissioning of new equipment.
* Create layout drawings using CAD (ideally AutoCAD 2D).
* Lead and supervise a small team.
* Travel to suppliers as required, representing the business professionally.
About You
We're looking for a self‑motivated individual with strong engineering and leadership capabilities.
Essential
* Time served engineer, electrically biased (HNC/HND level).
* Solid understanding of mechatronics, PLCs, servo drives, and control systems.
* CAD literate with the ability to produce layout drawings.
* Proven experience installing and commissioning equipment.
* Strong contractor and supplier management skills.
* Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
* Hands‑on approach with strong problem‑solving skills.
Desirable
* A recognised Health and Safety qualification.
* Experience managing small teams.
* Strong understanding of H & S compliance and safe working practices.
Hours and Benefits
* 8:00am-4:00pm, Monday to Friday (30‑minute break)
* 33 days annual leave (Bank Holidays not observed; Christmas shutdown applies)
* A GBP 50,000 annual salary
* After 6 month probation, access to an enhanced pension scheme (company match up to 6)
