Are you ready to take the lead in a dynamic manufacturing environment? As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager at our Glasgow facility, you will play a pivotal role in directing and managing our manufacturing and process engineering functions. Here, we design and produce the renowned Waukesha Bearings and Inpro/Seal ranges of components.
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will guide a talented team in creating and planning CNC programs, coordinating tooling and fixturing, and championing continuous improvement initiatives. Your efforts will help us enhance our industrial processes, materials, and products.
About Our Facility
Our facility boasts a diverse array of multi-axis machine tools, lathes, mills, grinders, and more. We handle a high-mix of customized fluid-film bearings, seals, and isolators, serving customers across Europe and beyond in turbomachinery and industrial rotating equipment.
What You Will Bring:
* A progressive background in precision engineering, with experience managing all aspects of a Manufacturing Engineering Department.
* Expertise in offline CNC machine programming for complex components, utilizing advanced milling and turning technologies. Familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as FeatureCAM, GibbsCAM, or Vericut is essential.
* Excellent planning and organizational skills, coupled with strong analytical, communication, and collaboration abilities.
* Proven leadership experience in team management, with a knack for encouraging change through Lean tools and Continuous Improvement techniques.
What You Will Do:
* Lead the Manufacturing Engineering team in creating and planning all CNC programming for the plant, ensuring timely delivery.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine the best manufacturing approaches for designs.
* Provide guidance and support to production and manufacturing engineering teams on various manufacturing issues.
* Create a positive and motivating work environment, directing activities and setting plans to enhance team skills and performance.
* Develop and execute Manufacturing Engineering KPIs to drive departmental performance, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals are met.
* Proactively address any issues with BOM accuracy, routing, and CNC programs, while specifying tooling types and liaising with suppliers.
* Foster continuous improvement by actively participating in and encouraging team involvement in enhancing manufacturing processes through Lean tools and CI techniques.
