Assistant Accountant
Location: Dyfed-Powys Police Headquarters (Hybrid Working Arrangement)
Rate: £19.60 PAYE / £23.06 LTD per hour (umbrella)

About the Role We are seeking a motivated Assistant Accountant to join the Finance team at Dyfed-Powys Police on a temporary basis until 31 March 2026. You will play a key role in supporting the financial management of the organisation, contributing to accurate reporting, budget monitoring, and compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with month-end and year-end processes, including preparation of the Statement of Accounts.
Perform reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
Support the budget-setting process and monitor/report variances.
Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for senior stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and internal policies.
Provide financial advice and support to internal and external stakeholders.
About You
AAT qualified or part-qualified accountant, with membership of a recognised professional body (IFAC).
Strong understanding of financial processes and accounting standards.
Experience with reconciliations, reporting, and financial systems.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work to strict deadlines.
Proficient in financial systems (Agresso Business World desirable).
Additional Information
Contract until 31 March 2026.
Security vetting (MV/SC) required.
This role involves regular use of display screen equipment and headsets.
