Job Overview:
Charity Jobs NI, part of the Happy Jobs group, is partnering with Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful to recruit a proactive, organized, and dedicated Local Environmental Quality Coordinator. This role involves coordinating environmental quality and certification programs, engaging with communities, and supporting environmental initiatives within the LEQ department.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordination: Manage resources and team members to deliver program outputs effectively within budget and deadlines.
2. Project Management: Lead planning, implementation, and reporting of environmental quality initiatives.
3. Surveying and Certifications: Coordinate certification programs like Blue Flag, Green Flag, and conduct cleanliness surveys across boroughs and neighborhoods.
4. Community Engagement: Develop community participation in sustainability initiatives and promote award programs.
5. Communications: Serve as the primary contact, respond to inquiries, represent the charity at events, and prepare content for various platforms.
6. Research Support: Assist in research and policy analysis related to environmental sustainability.
7. Authority and Decision-making: Manage stakeholder communications, oversee work commissioning, and support marketing efforts.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Essential: Relevant third-level qualification or three years' equivalent experience; at least 1 year in surveying/auditing; 2 years in program delivery; 1 year in staff supervision.
* Desirable: Experience in data collection, analysis, reporting, voluntary sector, or local government roles.
Skills & Requirements:
* Strong ICT skills (Microsoft Office).
* Full valid driving license and access to transport.
* Understanding of environmental issues (essential) and behavior change principles (desirable).
Personal Qualities:
* Effective independent and team working skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Additional Details:
* Occasional travel throughout Northern Ireland and flexible working hours.
* Hybrid working model: minimum 2 days per week in Belfast office.
* Salary: £30,328 per annum.
* Contract: Permanent, subject to funding.
