AI Enablement Lead

Achieving for Children is on a journey. Like many organisations, we're exploring how artificial intelligence can support our people to work more effectively, not to replace judgement or expertise, but to reduce friction, save time, and free up more space for the work that matters most. We are looking for someone to lead that journey from the inside.

The AI Enablement Lead will be a friendly, trusted guide that colleagues across the organisation turn to when they're curious, uncertain, or ready to get started. You will design and deliver practical training, create resources that make sense to real people in real roles, and build a culture where experimenting, learning, and asking questions are all encouraged.

About the role

The AI Enablement Lead is a people-focused role designed to guide the organisation through the adoption of AI tools. Acting as the trusted knowledge expert, the post holder will bridge the gap between emerging technology and frontline practice, supporting both the general workforce and the wider Digital & Technology service. By fostering a culture of safe, responsible experimentation, this role aims to build confidence across the organisation, empowering staff at all levels to integrate tools like Google Gemini and NotebookLM into their daily workflows with confidence and care.

You will work closely with teams and senior leadership to understand where AI tools like Google Gemini, NotebookLM, and Magic Notes can genuinely add value, supporting staff to use them with confidence and care.

This is not a technical role. It's a role for someone who understands people, knows how to bring them along on a journey of change, and can communicate clearly and warmly across every level of the organisation from frontline practitioners to the senior leadership team.

The post holder will also play an important role in measuring success. You will track adoption rates, training participation, and agreed KPIs, providing regular, clear reports to senior management so that progress is visible and decisions are well-informed.

Sector Experience: Experience within a local authority setting is essential with previous experience supporting Children’s Services highly desirable; however, candidates without this specific background are still encouraged to apply if they demonstrate exceptional alternative experience or skills.
3. Point of Contact and Knowledge Expert: Serve as the visible face of AI for the organisation, acting as the primary point of contact for the workforce and the wider Digital & Technology service to build confidence and provide accessible expertise.
4. Training and Resource Development: Design and deliver engaging workshops and practical resources that translate complex AI concepts into accessible, everyday language.
5. Culture and Change Management: Lead the organisational shift toward AI adoption by building trust, addressing skepticism, and encouraging a "learning-by-doing" mindset.
6. Responsible Implementation: Ensure all AI usage aligns with data privacy policies and professional integrity standards, embedding ethical habits and safe usage boundaries across the workforce.
7. Progress Tracking and Reporting: Monitor adoption rates and KPIs to provide senior leadership with clear, data-driven insights into the impact of AI on organisational efficiency and service delivery.
