Primary Care Network (PCN) Pharmacy Technician
This role is part of the Brighton North and Central PCN, a collaborative group of four GP practices serving a population of approximately 42,000 patients. The successful candidate will join a dedicated pharmacy team of four clinical pharmacists and four pharmacy technicians, supported by a lead PCN pharmacist. The position offers an opportunity to shape the pharmacy role within the PCN and to develop professional practice through the 15‑month CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway.
Responsibilities
* Carry out medicines reconciliation and optimise prescribing through safe transfer of care from secondary and tertiary settings.
* Promote manage dispensing and online ordering to reduce medicines wastage and ensure cost‑effective prescribing.
* Answer medication queries from clinicians, colleagues and patients within scope of practice and refer to clinical pharmacists as appropriate.
* Run face‑to‑face clinics and manage patients with chronic conditions, actively reviewing and optimising medication.
Qualifications
* NVQ at Level 3 (essential).
* Minimum of 2 years working at a higher level of pharmacy technician practice (essential).
* Evidence of post‑NVQ further learning (desirable).
* Completion of ACT course (desirable).
* Working towards completion of the National Competency Framework for Primary Care Pharmacy Technician (desirable).
