Senior EHV Cost Estimator

Summary
Network Services are currently recruiting for an experienced Operational Estimator to compile comprehensive estimations in line with supplied documentation and current standards. As a Senior EHV Cost Estimator, you will lead surveying and pricing for new Connection Projects, managing and delivering accurate, tailored estimates efficiently. The Estimator plays a key role in driving company growth by ensuring enquiries are handled efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with client specifications.
You will need to demonstrate knowledge and experience of working/pricing local DNO networks and/or Grid projects, including ICP and IDNO connections. Typical projects and pricing will include scaffolding, trackway, traffic management, materials, plant, equipment, and resources.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of quotations from specifications and drawings within defined timeframes
* Conduct on-site surveys and assessments, evaluate risks and potential issues, and consider financial impacts
* Evaluate options or alternatives
* Check accuracy and completeness of third-party documents and engineering specifications
* Liaise with procurement, sub-contractors, and suppliers to obtain the best quotations
* Produce formal quotation documentation
* Collaborate with operational colleagues
* Attend handover meetings to explain project scope, estimates, clarifications, and assumptions
Qualifications & Experience
* Detailed knowledge of Overhead EHV/Transmission installations, conductors, insulators, etc.
* Previous estimating or delivery experience involving Grid or DNO/IDNO/ICP projects
* Formal training in Electrical or Power Engineering or related fields is advantageous
* Proven track record in providing technical solutions and costing in electrical and civil engineering environments
* Full driving license
