Trevett Services are pleased to be representing a leading Facilities Management provider in their search for a Health and Safety Advisor for their key site in Somerset. The Health and Safety Advisor will specialise in Fire Risk and DSEAR works as well as carrying out H&S reviews, audits and assessments.
As the Health and Safety Advisor - specialising in Fire & DSEAR - you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide competent H&S, and Fire and DSEAR advice and support across the contract, maintaining LHUK Fire Safety strategy whilst promoting a positive fire safety culture across the estate. Although the FRA's are conducted by a 3rd party SME you will be involved in FRA's for project work where required.
Key Job Accountabilities:
* Provide technical advice on fire safety management at all levels to the Client, management, colleagues, and consultants.
* Review, interpret and update FRA and DSEAR action plans.
* Prepare FRAs for refurbishment projects and new buildings.
* Coordinate and ensure appropriate control measures are in place and tracked to ensure the safe delivery of the Fire Risk Assessment/DSEAR Risk Assessments conducted by SME.
* Attend meetings to present reports, provide guidance, and answer questions on all aspects of site safety.
* Conduct Investigations to establish root causes of incidents.
* Maintain knowledge of fire safety legislation and regulations.
* Act as the principal point of contact for petroleum licensing activities.
* Support the Business with fire insurance visits and consultations.
* Establish and maintain relationships with Fire and Rescue Services and LHUK Fire Service.
* Support the H&S team function.
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
* Professional certifications in Fire Risk Assessment or Fire Safety
* NEBOSH Fire Certificate,
* NEBOSH General Certificate.
* ABBE Level 3 certificate in Fire Risk Management with a background in Fire Safety Management.
* Experience with DSEAR/ATEX Risk Assessments
* Experience conducting Fire Risk Assessments and inspections.
* Experience in Hazardous Area Classification
* Experience with the responsibility for carrying out DSEAR and Fire Risk Assessments.
Desirable:
* CFPA,
* GlfireE qualification or equivalent
* Membership of relevant bodies (e.g.lFE, IFSM, IOSH).
* Knowledge and experience dealing with petroleum licensing.
* NEBOSH Construction Certificate
