Job Title: Legal Assistant – (Fixed term maternity cover up to the end of March 2027)

Hours: 30 hours per week – Part time (flexible in line with business needs)

Salary: £21,500 (based on 30 hours per week) per annum + Casual Car User Mileage Allowance

Location: Gadbrook Park, Northwich. The Trust operates an agile working environment with a mix of office and home working, requiring at least one day per week in the Head Office unless otherwise required.


Opportunity

We are seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Legal & Commercial Services Team. As the first point of contact for customer and colleague queries, you will support the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the team and help deliver a high‑quality, professional legal service.


What You Will Do

* Be the first point of contact for internal and external queries, managing the team’s central email inbox and telephone enquiries.
* Support the Legal Officer, Home Ownership Officer, Solicitor and Legal Services Manager in all aspects of their work.
* Complete administrative tasks such as assigning incoming post, raising and paying invoices, and other duties or projects as required.
* Investigate and respond to land ownership and boundary queries.
* Provide administrative support for managing the Trust’s portfolio of commercial premises.


Minimum Requirements

* Grade GCSE 5 level, 4–9/A–C in Maths and English or equivalent qualification.
* Experience providing a high‑level of accurate administrative support.
* Experience using Microsoft Office to produce letters, spreadsheets and emails.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills; self‑motivated, well‑organised and accurate.
* IT‑literate, able to work flexibly and manage workloads under pressure.
* Willingness to undergo a DBS check and disclose any convictions in line with the Trust’s Disclosure & Barring Policy.
