Description We are looking for several Laboratory Interns for our SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) laboratory in Basingstoke. This is one of our pioneering labs within our CMIT (Consumer, Medical & Information Technologies) operating unit, where our teams in Basingstoke specialise in testing consumer electronic products for the rate at which energy is absorbed by the human body when exposed to a radio frequency electromagnetic field. Our SAR testing labs play a vital role in enabling our prestigious customers to get their latest consumer products to market. During this Internship you'll perform various tests and you will work with the latest technologies in one of the best laboratory set-ups in Europe! Full training will be provided. Responsibilities To undertake SAR testing of consumer electronic products and help with report writing and other consulting duties. The Laboratory Intern should be able to perform with minimum supervision once training is completed and should be able to tackle problems in a systematic way. To update the company work monitoring systems with accurate details and job status for each item of work for which the Technician is responsible Meet customer delivery requirements in all respects. To undertake any ad hoc duties as may be required. Any other duties as defined in the UL Solutions Staff Handbook and the Quality Control Manual. Qualifications You will be an Undergraduate or Postgraduate ideally in a relatable degree such as Engineering, Science-related, Electronics or Electrical for example The ideal candidate would be keen to work for an international company such as UL Solutions, to explore the experience of corporate business. You should be willing to learn new technical concepts and implement them. Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK. IT skills: basic knowledge of Word, Excel would be ideal. Working on weekends on a rotating shift pattern is also required. Desirable: basic understanding of RF Communication methods and/or Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) test methods
