We are looking to recruit a new nurse to join our team of nurse practitioners, 2 nurses, 3 HCA's and a phlebotomist.
We are a 10,700 patient practice, operating out of a purpose built medical centre, just outside of Bude.
The role is that of a treatment room nurse, administering vaccines, undertaking smears and managing chronic diseases such as asthma, COPD and diabetes. The role may also include some wound care and contraception.
We all work closely as a team and provide a supportive environment for all our staff.
Main duties of the job
Treatment room nurse with experience of vaccinations, including baby vaccinations and travel vaccinations.
Smears and contraception.

Stratton Medical Centre is a busy town practice on the outskirts of Bude. We have over 10,700 patients who are looked after by an integrated team of 9 GPs, 2 Nurse Practitioners, a Paramedic, 2 Nurses, 3 Health Care Assistants and a Phlebotomist.
We are part of a wider Primary Care Network (PCN) where the team at Stratton benefit from Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians, Home Visiting Paramedics, Mental Health Practitioners and Social Prescribers.
We are a well organised team that is led by a Practice Manager and 2 GP Partners. We benefit from being able to respond quickly to situations and to listening to our staff to ensure that we remain a happy, well functioning team.
We all meet every morning to ensure we are aware of the issues for the day and pick up any concerns that may be present.
We also have regular team meetings, for all staff, to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to input into decisions or raise concerns.
Job responsibilities
Overview:To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients as well as providing nursing assistance to the doctors and other members of the primary healthcare team.The duties will include all tasks normally undertaken by an experienced RGN and in addition any roles agreed between the nurse and the doctors as appropriate, having regard to current training.

Offeradvice about childhood and adult vaccinations and ensure vaccines areadministered under patient group directions
Runningchronic disease clinics and health promotion programmes by providing a holisticassessment and lifestyle advice on diet, smoking, alcohol intake and exercise.Facilitates change
Assessingproblems presented opportunistically by patients, dealing with minor injuries.
Ableto document consultations according to NMC guidelines
Ensuresawareness of statutory and local clinical protection procedures, includingsystems of referral. Ability torecognise signs and symptoms of child abuse
Performa holistic assessment of patients attending for ear care including irrigation
Performa holistic assessment of patients attending for cervical cytology smear tests
Performvenepuncture according to local guidelines
Providea holistic approach to wound management and implement wound care in line withcurrent evidence based guidelines

Qualifications
* Qualified to degree level in Nursing
* Current and valid registration with the NMC
* General Practice Nurse qualification or equivalent
* Chronic disease management and qualification

* Communication skills both written and verbal
* IT skills such as Microsoft Office 365.
