Freight Forwarder | Air/Sea Freight (Imports & Exports) Location: Uxbridge/Heathrow Area Salary: £40K - £50K | Annual Bonus Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40hrs per week About the Role We are seeking a well-versed and established Senior Freight Operator / Freight Forwarder to manage and coordinate end-to-end Air Freight and Sea Freight international shipments (Import/Export). As a Freight Forwarder / Import Export Operator, you will have a solid background in both imports and exports, ensuring smooth operations, adherence to compliance, and excellent customer service skills. This role will involve liaising with customers, suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to deliver efficient and cost-effective transport solutions, industries can include retail, automotive, medical, construction or electronics. Shipments can be for a variety of sectors such as Hazardous Goods (ADR), Out-of-Gauge, Time Critical / Express Movements or White Glove Deliveries (Events, Exhibitions etc.) Key Responsibilities: Shipment Coordination: • Plan, book, and manage air freight and sea freight shipments (import and export) • Prepare and review shipping documentation (HB/L, MB/L, AWB, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin) • Monitor shipments from origin to destination, ensuring timely delivery Customer & Supplier Communication: • Serve as the primary contact for customers regarding shipment status and requirements • Negotiate with carriers, airlines, and shipping lines to secure competitive rates and space • Work closely with overseas agents and partners to ensure smooth operations Compliance & Documentation: • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and Incoterms • Prepare customs clearance instructions and liaise with customs brokers • Maintain accurate records of shipments and documentation Problem Solving & Escalation: • Handle exceptions, delays, and claims efficiently • Provide solutions to logistical issues and proactively prevent service disruptions • Verify supplier invoices and prepare costs for billing • Ensure all shipments are invoiced accurately and on time Key Requirements: • Minimum 2 years’ experience in freight forwarding / logistics coordination / import export operations • Previous experience with Air Freight and Sea Freight end-to-end coordination • Proven track record in both import and export operations • Proficient in freight management systems and Microsoft Office Suite • Knowledge of Incoterms, customs procedures, and international shipping regulations • Strong communication and negotiation skills • Excellent organization and problem-solving abilities • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines • The successful candidate must be Driven and Motivated Salary & Benefits: • £40,000.00 - £50,000.00 • 10% Annual Bonus • Monday to Friday • 40hrs per week • 8am-5pm / 9am-6pm • 28 days holiday • Company Pension To Note: Should you have not heard back within 14 days, please assume that you have been unsuccessful TLP Recruitment acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
