Lead Data Scientist
Location: Norwich
Salary: Circa £50,000
This is a great job for someone who enjoys turning data into real, human impact.
If you’re curious, love solving problems, and want to use advanced analytics to improve how we support customers during their claims journey, this could be your next move.
A bit about the job
You’ll join our Data Science & Advanced Analytics team, who power some of the most forward‑looking initiatives in UK General Insurance. The role exists to design and deliver AI and machine learning models that make our claims experience faster, fairer, and more efficient. Your work will give our teams clear, data‑driven insight they can use every day. You’ll help shape how we use analytics to support customers when they need us most. And you’ll play a key role in getting models safely into production so they continue to perform well over time.
You’ll develop and improve machine learning models using rich and diverse datasets, while exploring new methods, tools, and technologies to drive innovation across the team. You’ll monitor model performance and support strong governance, reporting, and ongoing improvements, working closely with engineering teams to deploy models smoothly and reliably. You’ll also contribute to our modelling frameworks, coding standards, and ways of working, and use Agile principles to deliver meaningful work within cross‑functional teams.
