As a result of ongoing growth and expansion, Rainham Steel, a leading UK steel stockholder, requires an experienced mechanical/electrical engineer to work at our Rainham, Essex depot. The Role
* Reporting to the operations manager
* Hydraulic system installation, diagnosis and repair
* Electrical system installation, diagnosis and repair
* Pneumatic system installation, diagnosis and repair
* Welding (Mig, Arc), cutting and fabrication skills
* Fault finding and rectification
* Perform both reactive and preventative maintenance
* Periodic service and maintenance
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment conditions including part identification and procurement
* Flexible to do paid overtime when necessary
* Basic working hours 8am - 5.30pm or 6am to 3.30pm, 42.5 hours per week
Qualifications & Skills
* Proven experience in maintenance within a production environment
* Competent in mechanical repairs and maintenance, including bearings, belts, chains, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics and welding
* Competent in electrical control systems
* Ability to communicate with a wide range of people
* Able to work in a fast-paced, pressurized environment
* Good command of the English language
* Good timekeeping
