What You'll Be Doing


• Provide strong leadership, direction and coaching to the internal sales team to ensure high levels of performance, collaboration and engagement to create an effective team that proactively grows the customer base and share of wallet

* Collaborate with leadership and external sales teams to maximise profitable growth opportunities and ensure customer operational & logistical requirements are understood and delivered.

* Continuously improve the quality of sales through strategic pricing, negotiation and cost-effective sales initiatives.

* Create a strong customer-centric culture where colleagues take every opportunity to build great relationships through regular pro-active customer interaction, taking personal responsibility to build key customer relationships.

* Develop specialist product knowledge and sales capability within team and leverage skills to drive exceptional results in key areas.

* Maximise growth through continuously reviewing and championing improvements in sales processes to improve d professionalism and effectiveness of sales team.

* Leverage understanding of local markets to provide input into branch sales plans and forecasts that drive profitability and team performance.

* Give regular and timely constructive feedback on performance, holding the team accountable, and providing coaching and development solutions to enhance capability and deliver a high-quality customer experience.

* Foster and maintain constructive and collaborative relationships with Suppliers, identifying beneficial trading opportunities and securing support for local initiatives and training as required.

What We're Looking For

* Experience in a sales leadership role within the merchanting or building materials industry

* Experience of development and execution of sales plans and campaigns

* Proven ability to coach, develop and manage others to deliver exceptional customer service and exceed sales and profitability targets

Enthusiasm - Positivity and unyielding passion for the merchant world.
