Family Solicitor / Legal Executive – Derby
Location: Derby (with offices across the Midlands)
The Role
My client is a well-established full-service law firm, with a specialist family law team supporting clients through relationship breakdowns with expert legal advice.
The firm is seeking an experienced and client-focused Family Solicitor to join its growing team in Derby. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside an experienced family law specialist and support a wide range of clients navigating complex and sensitive legal matters.
You will handle your own caseload while contributing to a supportive and collaborative environment that prioritises constructive outcomes and minimises conflict wherever possible.
Areas of Work

• Divorce and separation
• Civil partnerships and same-sex marriage
• Financial settlements on separation
• Family mediation
• Child arrangements and disputes
• Cohabitation disputes
• Pre- and post-nuptial agreements
• Domestic abuse matters

About the Team
You will work closely with an experienced and respected Family Law Partner alongside a well-honed team that follows best practice principles that emphasise negotiation and agreement as a non-confrontational approach wherever possible.
About you

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience in Family Law
• Strong technical knowledge across a range of family law matters
• Excellent communication and client care skills
• Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and empathy
• A commitment to negotiation and achieving amicable outcomes where possible
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy caseload
