The charity aims to close the education gap between children from low-income families and their wealthier peers by influencing policy, coordinating a national network, empowering young people, and scaling effective solutions to educational inequality.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Policy Insights to join the team. In this role, you will shape how the organisation influences education policy at local, regional, and national levels by connecting insights from data, member organisations, and young people's voices to drive systemic change. This is a part-time (four days a week), permanent position with hybrid working—three days in London. After passing probation, you will be eligible for up to six weeks of ‘super remote’ working per year, allowing you to work from anywhere in the world.
Who are we looking for?
Ideal candidates will have a solid understanding of the UK policy landscape, including the roles and motivations of parliamentarians, local officials, civil servants, and other stakeholders, and how to drive change. You should have experience telling compelling stories with data to inspire action, be comfortable working with raw data, and delivering insights. Experience within or alongside the education sector in England, especially understanding factors that drive educational equality and how education interacts with other systems, is highly desirable. Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and understand their priorities are essential. Experience working with educational datasets, particularly from the Department of Education, would be a bonus but is not essential.
