Overview

UHNM is currently unable to provide sponsorship for this role. This aligns with UKVI guidelines and legislation, as these roles do not meet the required skill or salary threshold for sponsorship. If you hold a graduate visa, you may apply; however UHNM will be unable to offer sponsorship at the end of your graduate visa. You must also have at least six months remaining on your graduate visa at the start of employment for training and operational reasons.

Based in the Hearing and Balance Centre at Royal Stoke, this opportunity involves supporting the clinical team to deliver a wide range of sub-specialty services including routine, complex adult and paediatric audiology, vestibular assessment and rehabilitation, and hearing therapy. The post holder will implement infection prevention measures, assist with stock control, and assist with administration of clinical procedures.

The role includes enrolment onto the fully funded Level 2 Apprenticeship course run by CRS, an online training course running for sixteen months.

* Under the supervision of the Assistant Audiologist, arrange external repair/replacement of faulty hearing aids.
* Assist in the maintenance of other departmental data recording systems, databases, and filing systems.
* Process returned patient questionnaires and liaise with the clinical team and admin team to arrange appointments where appropriate.
* Actively participate in clinical audit at local, regional or national levels.
* Assist the Audiologist with preparation of domiciliary visits and accompany the Audiologist on domiciliary visits to assist with necessary clinical procedures in the domiciliary environment.
* Attend departmental staff meetings and training events as required by the Head of Service.
* Other duties as discussed and agreed with the line manager, in keeping with the general description, but excluding diagnostic audiometry and rehabilitative procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

* The Audiology Team will support your learning throughout this period and provide training to perform basic clinical procedures, hearing aid repairs and patient advice, while promoting deaf awareness throughout the trust and wider community.
* Ideally, you will have experience of excellent customer services and a passion for patient-centred care.
