We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Finite Element Analysis (FEA) supervisor, to coordinate the development and execution of advanced structural simulations that support the design, validation, and optimization of commercial HVAC products. This role demands people leadership experience as well as a strong foundation in structural and solid mechanics, with deep expertise in both heavy welded structures and light sheet metal assemblies.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience analyzing structural and dynamic loading conditions, understanding failure mechanisms—including static, dynamic, and fatigue—and performing nonlinear analysis. A solid grasp of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM) is essential, along with proficiency in FEA tools such as ANSYS. Serve as a supervisor, coach, and mentor to FEA engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment. Encourage open technical discussions, promote team cohesion, and actively contribute to the professional development of team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Lead and mentor structural simulation team by providing expert technical guidance in simulation methodologies, fostering collaboration, and ensuring alignment with best practices in digital modeling and structural analysis. This role has direct reports and requires experience leading a team.

* Develop and perform detailed FEA simulations to evaluate structural integrity and performance of HVAC components and systems.

* Create HVAC system simulation models by cleaning 3D geometries, generating meshes, and applying boundary and initial conditions—following established procedures or innovating new methodologies in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

* Support product development through simulation-driven design, validation, and optimization.

* Analyze results to identify potential failure modes and recommend design improvements.

* Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and testing teams to ensure robust and manufacturable solutions.

* Apply knowledge of welded structures and sheet metal design to real-world HVAC applications.

* Perform modal, harmonic, random vibration, acoustic, and transient dynamic analyses to assess and mitigate structural issues.

* Generate detailed technical reports and presentations summarizing simulation results, design recommendations, and risk assessments.

* Maintain and develop standardized modeling practices, templates, and libraries for structural simulations.

* Assist in establishing structural test plans and collaborate with internal test labs to support experimental data collection for model validation.

* Stay current with emerging FEA methodologies, tools, and best practices to continuously improve simulation capabilities.

* Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable regulatory standards in all analysis and design recommendations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Experience managing a team.

* Proficiency with leading FEA tools such as ANSYS and Python Scripting .

* Strong expertise in structural simulation techniques including modal analysis, frequency response and acoustic analysis.

* In depth understanding of mechanical design principles, materials behavior, and fatigue analysis.

* Experience in correlating simulation results to physical testing data and refining models for accuracy.

* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting technical content to both engineering and non-engineering audiences.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and report writing tools.

* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Experience in HVAC product development or other mechanical systems with significant structures and vibration performance requirements.

* Familiarity with experimental structural testing techniques and equipment (accelerometers, microphones, data acquisition systems).

* Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, Division 2, Part 5 – Design by Analysis would be a plus, particularly in applying elastic and elastic-plastic analysis methods to ensure structural integrity and code compliance in pressure-retaining components.

* Knowledge of statistical analysis methods including DOE and Six Sigma principles.

* Exposure to simulation governance frameworks and model lifecycle management.

* Familiarity with AI/ML techniques as applied to FEA for surrogate modeling, design space exploration, and optimization.

* Experience with Multi-Domain Optimization software (modeFrontier, optiSLang, etc.) and cross-physics simulation integration.

* Understanding of Multi-Body Dynamics (MBD) simulations and their integration with structural and NVH analyses.

* Familiarity with thermal-structural coupling effects and simulation methods to predict performance under combined thermal and mechanical loads.

* Familiarity with Agile development processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

* Bacherlor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

* Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required highly desirable. Academic background should include coursework in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Strength of Materials, and Vibrations.

Experience:

* 1-2 years people management.

* 5-10 years of hands-on experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), with a strong track record of applying simulation techniques to support product design and validation.

Location:

* Willing to be based in either SLP or Monterrey.
