The below job description will outline this position of: Business Leader Typically, this person will be a commercially astute and financially savvy operational leader with a passion for boating and a track record of managing teams and driving profitability. The ideal candidate will possess prior P&L responsibility and hands-on business management experience, ideally within marina operations or a related field. Duties and Responsibilities of the Business Leader: 1. Operational Management: Ensure operations comply with Health & Safety and industry regulations Manage marine lifting operations and yard equipment Plan and oversee daily team workloads Assist in operational tasks and emergency duties as required 2. Strategic Development: Identify and implement new business opportunities Maximize revenue streams and identify cost-saving initiatives Collaborate with Marketing to execute growth strategies Manage and develop commercial properties to ensure compliance and profitability 3. Financial Oversight: Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting Monitor business performance against targets Plan capital expenditure and manage cost controls 4. Leadership and Team Development: Build a culture of customer service and continuous improvement Recruit, train, and manage a diverse team Handle employment contracts, training plans and succession planning 5. Stakeholder Engagement: Promote Thornham as a leading marina destination Foster relationships with suppliers, tenants, and local authorities Represent the business in key negotiations and agreements 6.
