Element is seeking a Senior Cyber Engineer to join our growing Cyber Engineering Services.
The successful candidate will have a strong background as a security engineer, responsible for securing complex global environments and designing security solutions at scale, with expertise in application, cloud, and infrastructure domains.
This hybrid role involves designing and implementing secure technical solutions to defend against cyber threats, focusing on detection engineering within Element's security tooling.
Core Responsibilities
1. Assist in designing and implementing technical solutions and security tools to address vulnerabilities, mitigate threats, and automate tasks.
2. Contribute to planning, implementing, and managing the security operations tooling roadmap.
3. Collaborate on the engineering, management, monitoring, and upgrading of cybersecurity infrastructure.
4. Create and maintain detection rules to identify suspicious activities and threats.
5. Participate in creating and optimizing SIEM event correlation rules and content.
6. Support the transition of projects into operational service.
7. Develop new security solutions and toolsets for vulnerability mitigation and automation.
8. Ensure documentation and procedures are up-to-date and followed.
9. Conduct security checks and troubleshoot issues.
10. Maintain standard operating procedures and protocols.
11. Work closely with the Cyber Defence team to uphold security practices.
12. Support incident response activities.
13. Assist with operational and management reporting.
Skills / Qualifications
* Self-motivated with a positive attitude, supporting business growth through security as an enabler.
* Strong intellectual agility and ability to apply it across various business contexts.
* Expertise in at least one security domain: Platform Protection, Network Architecture, or Cloud Security.
* Ability to review and provide input on designs, reports, and standards.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical findings for non-technical audiences.
* Thorough understanding of security principles, techniques, and trends.
* Experience with networking in complex, multi-site environments, including multinational connectivity.
* Knowledge of security technologies such as NDR, content filtering, FW, IPS, IDS, DDoS, EDR/MDR, DAST/SAST, IAM, SIEM, SOAR, log management.
* Experience in cyber defense operations; previous roles as a Cyber Security Engineer or Network/Server Engineer are beneficial.
* Experience working internationally and in multicultural environments.
* Proactive communicator, comfortable engaging with staff at various levels.
* Interest or experience in working within complex, federated organizations, infrastructure, and application support.
