We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a fixed-term Band 5 Assistant Psychologist to join the Barnet Enhanced Support Team.
As an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holders will contribute to a comprehensive, rapid and flexible service for the most urgent and acute problems facing troubled adolescents, including significant self-harm and serious mental illness..

Key Responsibilities
· To attend clinical meetings and in-service training as required.
· To keep up to date with new techniques and research for the maintenance and promotion of good practice.
· Record all clinical information in line with trust policies.
· Support service development and quality improvement projects.
· To be responsible for the planning and prioritization of own workload and activities following the direction and guidelines given by the supervising clinical psychologist.
· To support formal and informal assessment in respect of the social communication needs of children and young people presenting with neurodevelopmental difficulties.
· To hold a small caseload supervised by the 8a Clinical Psychologist

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.
· To undertake protocol based psychological assessment of clients through direct and indirect observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client’s care under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist.
· The postholder will have a personal duty of care for Trust equipment and facilities.
· To be responsible for planning and prioritization of one’s own workload and activities following the direction and guidelines given by the clinical psychologist.
· To be capable of working in clinical situations which require concentration, and which may involve distressing or emotionally demanding circumstances or where there is risk of verbal or physical aggression.
· To maintain and update client records in accordance with Trust and professional guidelines.
· Scoring ND screeners, preparing clients for assessment and MDT discussions.
