To start asap.This particular role takes a multi-disciplinary approach to providing substance use intervention to service users with opiate, non-opiate and alcohol use difficulties. The service aspires to promote recovery and the long-term wellbeing individuals can achieve with the support of the service and from within their local community.The post holder should have knowledge of the MAT standards alongside drug and alcohol policy context and be able to work with vulnerable adults - including those who have transient and unstable lifestyles. The nature of this post requires a high level of partnership and collaborative working across a range of teams and services.The successful candidate will have a good understanding of trauma and how substance use impacts on the service user and community. They should also be familiar or willing to become familiar with the recovery process clients in the service go through, including social work theory which supports our understanding of change, motivation and recovery. Previous experience of assessments for residential rehabilitation, motivational interviewing approaches and problem-solving strategies to support service users who struggle to engage consistently with services is desirable.An ability to work under pressure and support service users through moments of crisis is also essential.It is important that the post holder has the ability to work with professionals from different agencies e.g. health professionals and voluntary organisations, adult and children social work teams to ensure that the health and social care needs of service users are met through joint assessments and care plans.
