Morson Technical Services are currently looking to recruit a Stock Controller/Asset Control Engineer on a 6 months contract initially. The Opportunity We are looking to recruit an Asset Control Engineer to Support the ongoing development and delivery of a national capability across the UK in support of a major Contract. The role will be located near Salisbury, Wiltshire - normal office hours but may require some work outside normal office hours, including weekends and some site visits at various locations around the UK. The successful candidate will have good engineering knowledge and demonstrable experience supporting IT, electronic, electrical, or mechanical technologies within in a stock control or configuration management position. What you will do The Asset Control Engineer reports to the Senior Project Assurance Engineer and is responsible for: Monitoring the quality of records in the configuration management database. Performing local physical audits on vehicles and local storage locations. Performing remote audits on vehicles and local storage locations. Performing remote and local audits on deployed systems in the customer estate. Requesting and managing information from our field based staff. Checking and correcting when required, records in the configuration management database. Investigation through to resolution of discrepancies in audit results. Confirming new records are uploaded correctly into the configuration management database. Confirming disposed of assets are correctly recorded in the configuration management database. Raising and maintaining relevant non-conformance reports. Working with Delivery, Test and Engineering Teams to identify and improve weakness in processes, procedures and policies. Reporting progress regularly on the assigned tasks, highlighting where agreed target dates are not going to be achieved via formal written reports. Be prepared for some travel throughout the UK to provide assurance activity at Customer locations, sometimes at short notice. What we are looking for The successful candidate will have an excellent range of knowledge and experience delivering configuration management or stock control to products and services for systems containing IT, electronic, electrical, mechanical and cabling components and sub-systems. Specific knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas will be an advantage: Previous experience working as a stock controller or configuration engineer. Ability to read system and process diagrams, technical documents and test procedures. Previous experience administering an asset management or configuration management database. Conducting internal audits. Experience working within a quality system such as ISO9001. A full UK driving Licence. Personal Attributes A good sense of H&S awareness is essential. Integrity with respect to Company and Customer intellectual property rights. Confident in consulting with the Customer on behalf of the Company. Focus on attention to detail. Ability to build relationships quickly at all levels across a matrix-based organisation. Team player capable of working from own initiative with minimal guidance. A flexible work ethic is essential for this role. A Security Clearance must be maintained as condition of employment. Experience working with security sensitive products. Demonstrable proven history working in configuration or asset management. Understanding of, and ability to adhere to, all safety procedures and safe working practices. System-specific training will be provided.
