CAD Engineer

The Role
Based at our Flexeserve brand, Hinckley site in Leicestershire, you will support the full lifecycle of our industry‑leading products, managing engineering changes, maintaining accurate CAD and MRP data, and supporting cross‑functional teams with cost‑saving and range expansion initiatives.
You’ll be involved in a broad mix of activities, including 3D modelling, 2D drawing creation, configuration management, product cost review, and supporting the resolution of technical issues. You’ll work independently, but as part of a highly supportive and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
* 3D modelling – creation and modification of parts and assemblies in SolidWorks with consideration of design for manufacture (in house and at suppliers), including Sheet metal, Machined, and Electrical assemblies.
* 2D drawing creation – creation and modification of drawings for parts and assemblies.
* Building configurations – creation of 3D configurations in SolidWorks linked to Epicor via CADlink.
* MRP item masters – creation and checking item master data in Epicor.
* ECR documentation – completing the internal process.
* Check and release – buddy check as part of the check and release procedure.
About You
* Relevant qualification/apprenticeship in Engineering or equivalent industry experience
* Proficient in SolidWorks (3D and 2D), including sheet metal design
* Strong understanding of engineering design and manufacturing processes
* Experience creating and modifying part and assembly drawings
* Confident working with MRP/ERP systems and configuration tools
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Familiarity with CADLink and Epicor (or similar systems)
* Experience in costing, supplier discussions, and basic project coordination
* Proficient with Microsoft Excel
* Knowledge of ASANA (task management) is an advantage but not essential
