What is the job role?
As Duty Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to‑day running of a busy library, ensuring a safe, welcoming and well‑managed environment for customers, staff and visitors. This includes overseeing health and safety, managing the building, and handling incidents and complaints.
You will be the first point of contact for customers, supporting enquiries, digital access and library services.
You will lead and support a team of library staff, managing rotas, supervising performance and supporting training and development.
You will also oversee the delivery of events and activities, working with colleagues to promote services, maintain engaging displays and support community use of the library.

* Tuesday 9.00‑7.00pm
* Friday 7.00‑3.00pm
* Saturday 8.30‑4.30pm
* Sunday 11.30‑4.00pm
Week 2
* Tuesday 9.00‑7.00pm
* Thursday 8.30‑4.30pm
* Friday 11.00‑7.00pm
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with experience in delivering customer‑focused services and supervising teams.
You will be organised, proactive and able to solve problems effectively, with the confidence to lead staff and support events and activities.
You will have strong communication and IT skills, a passion for working with people, and a commitment to maintaining welcoming and inclusive library spaces.
